If you are paying even a little bit of attention, (you probably are, unless you stumbled in here by accident) then you know that heat pumps could hardly be hotter right now. It’s not hard to see why they’ve taken off with all this talk about affordable climate control and cutting your power bill in half. (See our post on savings for the real deal those claims).
Whether you want to take advantage of the energy savings that heat pumps offer, or you want to stay cool is those sticky summer months, or even if you just want to keep up with the Joneses but don’t want to front the cost you are in luck.
There are two great programs for Nova Scotia’s homeowners to get setup with a heat pump.
Nova Scotia Power’s On-Bill Financing Program
ova Scotia Power (NSP) continues to offer an affordable, easy solution for financing a new heat pump. This program is a lease to own with a term of 3 to 10 years, and a token buyout of $1 at the end of the term. Of course, you always have the option to pay off the remaining balance at any time. They are offering a very competitive financing rate of 7.0% and your payments are added directly to your monthly or bi-monthly power bill.
