If you are paying even a little bit of attention, (you probably are, unless you stumbled in here by accident) then you know that heat pumps could hardly be hotter right now. It’s not hard to see why they’ve taken off with all this talk about affordable climate control and cutting your power bill in half. (See our post on savings for the real deal those claims).
Whether you want to take advantage of the energy savings that heat pumps offer, or you want to stay cool is those sticky summer months, or even if you just want to keep up with the Joneses but don’t want to front the cost you are in luck.
There are two great programs for Nova Scotia’s homeowners to get setup with a heat pump.
Nova Scotia Power’s Financing Program
Nova Scotia Power (NSP) continues to offer an affordable, easy solution for financing a new heat pump. This program is a lease to own with a term of 3 to 10 years, and a token buyout of $1 at the end of the term.
Of course, you always have the option to pay off the remaining balance at any time. They are offering a very competitive financing rate of 7.0% and your payments are added directly to your monthly or bi-monthly power bill.
- 7.0% financing rate
- Terms from 3 to 10 years
- $1 buyout at end of term (lease to own program)
- Payout at any time in full
The best part is we can take care of processing the application for you. You just fill out the form during your free in-home assessment and we will then submit your application through NSP and hear back within 7 – 10 business days with the results.
Efficiency Nova Scotia’s Green Heat Program
This excellent program was originally only offered to electrically heated homes but is now being offered to oil heated homes as well. So make sure you see if you qualify.
The Green Heat Program offers homeowners in nova scotia a rebate of $200 per tonne on ductless mini split heat pumps and $400 per tonne on centrally ducted heat pumps.
Please note that mini-split ductless heat pumps must be on the list of approved cold climate heat pump. We will make sure that your heat pump qualifies should you purchase your heat pump through Acadia Refrigeration.
To get your rebate from Efficiency Nova Scotia you must be pre-approved so make sure to get your quote from an in-home assessment before you apply for your rebate.
